Approved by an advisory panel of active and retired Rangers, and the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum, LDT Customs, Inc. has been granted licensing privileges to produce a limited edition custom motorcycle honoring the legendary lawmen. The bike was unveiled during the annual Ranger Reunion, a private 2-day event held at the museum each year. Only 100 of the American made motorcycles will be built. A donation from the sale of each bike will go to support educational and preservation programs at the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum in Waco, which is designated the official historical center for the law enforcement agency. Each purchase will be accompanied by a certificate from the museum, signed by an acting or distinguished retired Captain of the Texas Rangers. Their name will also be engraved on a plaque to be permanently displayed at the museum and they’ll receive a 5-year family pass as well. Purchasers of the bike should feel proud to be part of a project that is helping to preserve the unique American heritage of the Texas Rangers law enforcement agency.
The Texas Lottery Commission released a scratch-off game featuring the Texas Ranger Limited Edition Silver Series custom motorcycle in September 2008. A total of seven bikes were given away, four of them as instant win prizes on a scratch-off ticket and three were awarded through a second chance drawing.
The second chance drawing was another opportunity to win a Texas Ranger bike for those who did not win a prize on the scratch-off ticket. The first drawing was held on October 19, 2008 at the Texas State Fair in Dallas, Texas. The second drawing was held on November 18, 2008 at Global Fulfillment Solutions in Carrollton, Texas, and the last drawing was held on April 28, 2009. Photos of the winners are displayed in the Texas Ranger photo gallery on the "Motorcycles" page.
A new design, the Lucky Rider, was created for the Texas Lottery for a scratch off ticket released in September 2009 and is currently on sale at Texas Lottery retail locations.
